2024: Our Launch Year - Laying the Foundation
We took the first step by launching the Inaugural Social Enterprise Awards in Uganda and shining a light on Uganda’s most impactful changemakers. 150+ applications received. The beginning of a movement that would grow into a Pan-African platform.
2025: Growth & Expansion
In 2025, the Social Enterprise Awards experienced remarkable growth, evolving from a national initiative into a recognized platform for social innovation across Uganda.
- Applications surged to over 300 from across the country, more than double the previous year.
- We expanded our reach beyond Kampala, receiving strong participation from upcountry districts and rural innovators.
- Introduced new award categories to better reflect the diversity of social enterprises in agriculture, education, health, environment, and technology.
- Forged strategic partnerships with leading organizations, banks, and development partners.
- Hosted our first regional networking events, creating valuable connections between entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors.
- Celebrated winners whose work demonstrated measurable impact in job creation, community development, and environmental sustainability.
2026 COHORT
The third cohort marks a historic milestone as the Social Enterprise Awards goes Pan-African.
Building on the strong foundation of 2024 and 2025, we are expanding beyond Uganda to celebrate the best social entrepreneurs from across Africa.
The Social Enterprise Awards Ceremony 2026 is taking place on 20th November 2026 in Kampala, Uganda.
This year promises bigger impact, more categories, stronger partnerships, and a truly continental stage for African innovation and social change.
